Dress Code

Please review CCSD’s dress code guidelines. Students at Central Tech are required to adhere to basic student dress code provisions established in Policy 5131 and CCSD’s PK-12 Student Code of Conduct.  In preparation for the first week of school, we want to remind students and families of the following:

  • House slippers and shoes with wheels are not permitted.
  • All clothing must be sufficient to conceal any and all undergarments. No skin will be shown between the bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants or skirts at any point. All sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide. Prohibited tops include, but are not limited to, crop tops, tank tops, strapless, low-cut clothing, clothing with slits, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage.
  • Shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers/dresses must be fingertip length.
  • All jeans, pants, and trousers must be secured at waist level.  Sagging is prohibited.  Jeans, pants, and trousers are not to have rips or tears that expose undergarments and/or are located mid-thigh or higher.
  • Headgear (hats, hoods, caps, bandanas, hair grooming aids, etc.) is not permitted on campus.
  • Slogans or advertising on clothing, jewelry, buttons, and/or accessories which by their controversial, discriminatory, profane, and/or obscene nature disrupt the educational setting are prohibited.
  • Any clothing, jewelry, buttons, and/or accessories that promote illegal or violent conduct, or affiliation with groups that promote illegal or violent conduct, such as, but not limited to, the unlawful use of weapons, drugs, alcohol, prejudice, discrimination, tobacco, drug paraphernalia, or clothing that contains threats are prohibited.

Progressive Discipline for Dress Code Non-Compliance:

  1. Quick Fix
  2. Parent Contact
  3. Lunch Detention + Parent Contact
  4. Lunch Detention + Mandatory Parent Conference

See Policy 5131 and page 80 of CCSD’s PK-12 Student Code of Conduct for more detailed information.

Cell Phone Policy

As part of our commitment to fostering a positive and secure learning environment for all students free from extraneous distractions, we have implemented the use of non-locking signal-blocking pouches for personal communication devices.  For more information about the cell phone policy, refer to CCSD’s Pre-Kindergarten–12 Student Code of Conduct.

Students in violation of the cell phone policy will have their cell phones confiscated.

Daily Expectations

  • At the beginning of the instructional period, students will place their personal cellular devices in the phone pouches along with their headphones/earbuds. Students will be reminded by teachers that instruction is beginning and all phones/headphones/earbuds should be in the phone pouches. This serves as a warning.
  • Students will place their pouches on their desks in view of the teacher.
    • If a student does not place a cell phone in the pouch, it will be assumed the student does not have a cell phone on them. If a cell phone is observed later in the class period, the cell phone will be confiscated and progressive discipline will be followed.
    • In an emergency or an evacuation drill, students will always have immediate access to their phones as safety permits.
    • Parents should contact the school at 702-799-0250 if an emergency occurs and they need to contact their child.
  • Cell phones will remain in the pouches for the duration of the period.  Students can access them after the instruction period has concluded.

Progressive Discipline for Cell Phone Policy Non Compliance:

  1. Confiscation
  2. Confiscation + Lunch Detention + Parent Contact
  3. Confiscation + Lunch Detention + Parent Contact + Device Check In at Front Office
  4. Lunch Detention + Mandatory Parent Conference + Phone Check-In at Main Office for the day for a set period of time.
